The Warren Historical Society was founded in 1968 with the mission to preserve the historic heritage of the people of Warren. Among its founding members were many of the descendants of the founding families of Warren.
In 2006 under the leadership of a new board the Warren Historical Society incorporated and became a non-profit foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. Over the past ten years, WHS has undergone tremendous growth in both collection and program development.
Over the past 5 years, WHS has expanded its programs designed to bring the community together and celebrate our history. These include open hours in the Museum space; lectures and book readings, 4th of July bell ringing; exhibits at the Warren Fall Festival, and joint events with other organizations in town.
WHS Board of Directors
The Warren Historical Society is run by our Board of Directors who are volunteers and residents of Warren. Board members are elected for 2-year terms and range from historians and curators to individuals with a general interest in building and preserving Warren’s past and present.
