Ellen Paul became Town Historian for the Town of Warren in 1999 when Ruth Borden, the previous historian retired. As a librarian, a former researcher for the National Parks Service for their historic sites and with a keen interest in genealogy, she thought it was the best way to serve her town. In 2006 when the society incorporated, she became curator. In 2016 due to a burgeoning collection and expanded programming she became the first WHS staff member. Ellen retired from the position in December of 2020.
